* After downloading the style's file, unzip it using any archiving program.
1- Open the Photoshop document.
2- Select the layer that you want to apply the style for.
3- Open the Styles panel (Window -> Styles).
4- Click on the little arrow on the top right, and choose Load Styles fro the menu.
5- Open the style (.asl) file you want to load.
6- A style's preview icon will appear in the Styles panel.
7- Make sure that the active (selected) layer is the layer you want to apply the style for, then, click on the style's icon to apply the style.
8- The layer effects icon will appear to the right of the layer’s name in the Layers panel.
Clicking the arrow next to the layer effects icon will expand the style, so that you can view or modify the layer effects used.
9- The style is applied with its original values and blend modes.
- If you want to apply the style to different sizes, you might need to scale it. That can be done by right clicking on the layer effects icon and choosing Scale Effects, or from Layer -> Layer Style -> Scale Effects.
- Check the Preview box, and enter a percentage or drag the slider until you're satisfied with the result.
- Right click on the layer that you want to copy the layer style from, and choose Copy Layer Style.
- Right click on the layer that you want to copy the layer style to, and choose Paste Layer Style.
Some styles suit certain types of fonts (e.g. bold fonts, thin fonts, etc.), but others look good on many different types of fonts.
Also, some styles might look great on many different colors, while others require a certain color to be applied on, or have a Color Overlay effect that makes the style look exactly the same no matter what the original color of the object is.
